The Blue Turd is gone. In it’s place I have this awesome 2002 4.6 V8 Eddie Bauer Edition Explorer. No transmission problems, the suspension is crazy tight, all the electrics work, not a bit of rust, brand new tires, and just had a new intake manifold and rear brake calipers/pads installed. I’ve never owned a car that has had leather, heated seats, and working AC. The thing was owned by one family since new and spent its life in a garage.
It needs a name. Suggestions? I’m thinking Truck Norris

I’m feeling “The Exploder.”

My family had one in green for 12 years with the v6. Great truck not perfect but served our needs wonderfully

I grew up in a green Expedition of about the same year. Not a fancy truck, but it never let us down. Got rid of it when gas got too painful.

I have a friend who named his ‘90 Explorer that.

We got 17 mpg in our v6....

The computer on this truck is showing about 13.... My Trans Am gets better...

I don't think there's a way to reset it which always bothered me. Cuz I babied it and surely did better than that but once it accumulated 130k miles of data it's futile trying to get that number to change

That’s a clean truck! (I assume truck because body on frame?)
Isn’t working AC amazing? The first time you own a vehicle with one you wonder how you ever lived without it.

Exploder 2

I believe it is an F150 frame, so basically a truck. It is! Although the sunroof isn’t as awesome as T-tops.

I’m pretty sure the Explorer is Ranger based, while the Expedition is F-150 based.

Really? Hmm. I’ll have to look into it. I thought the ranger was pretty small (like my Blazer size).

I do believe that to be the case. It wouldn’t make sense for the Expedition to exist if that were the case.

Then what is the Excursion based off? An F250? Those things are massive!

Nice acquisition, great options picked by the original owners. I only wish that GM/Chevy would make a smallish SUV based on the new Colorado.

Yes, that’s why they look like a Super Duty with a bed and were available with diesels and a V10.

Thanks, yeah, they got the thing basically loaded as a lease vehicle and then decided to purchase it. Yeah, those would sell very well but the Equinox is close enough most people wouldn’t know the difference.

Yup, ranger based till 2010

Is it as clean as it looks, no rust?
You are unfortunately correct. I hate the Equinox, there’s no reason for it to be so ugly.

None at all. Biggest issue is they rarely conditioned the leather so it’s cracked in a spot. Yeah, and the 1,000,000 badge engineered versions of the equinox too.

If that’s the worst thing then dang, I’m a little jealous.
The Terrain isn't terrible to look at, I don't know about the rest though.

Truck Norris? For a 4 door Explorer? Nah... I’m thinking it’s more of a transport shuttle.
I say call it the Galileo (NCC-1701-D/07)... named after the Enterprise shuttle craft in Star Trek TNG.
